Resurrection Sunday

VERSE FOR THE DAY

Mark 16:6 But he said to them, Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him.

On this resurrection morning we rejoice in Christ our Lord,
His overwhelming love and grace, what a rich reward.
They looked for Him that morning but behold he was not there,
He's gone, and they inquired quickly, but they did not know where.
We thank God for the empty tomb, proving Christ is alive today,
And all who trust Him fully, will have joy with Him all the way
(RP)
What a beautiful Resurrection Sunday we have today.  It is supposed to reach 66 degrees. We are praying that churches will be filled today and God's Word will touch many lives.  We plan on being with our family for lunch.  We rejoice in Margie's good night.  Thanks for praying.

Back at it again

VERSE FOR THE DAY

2 Corinthians 5:10
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.
A solemn word from the Lord today about Christians and the judgment seat,
At this appointed place, someday every believer in Christ will meet.
Our lives will pass in review that day, before Jesus the Judge of the earth,
And everything we've done will be examined as to its worth.
So much will be burned as rubbish, because it was not done for the Lord,
But for everything done to honor Him, He has promised us reward.
(RP)

We are thankful for another good night's rest.  Margie is busy today preparing some desserts for the Sunday meal with our family in Stanwood.  We had a good Bible class yesterday and appreciate all those who attend and participate. Today I will continue working on the Brazil book.  I am setting April as the month to finalize everything and get the manuscript to the publisher.  I still have much to do. Thanks so much for your prayers.

Senior Center

VERSE FOR THE DAY

1 Corinthians 15:33
Do not be deceived: Evil company corrupts good habits.

You may not think it matters, but watch the company you keep,
If you think it's not important, I can say you are sound asleep.
The presence of the wrong people will affect you very much,
If you learn wrong things from them, they soon become a crutch.
If you started with good principles and honored God in your life each day,
Just remember the evil company can take you quickly away.
Develop healthy friendships, ones that honor God for sure,
And they will help you honor God and keep you always pure.
(RP)

Today we look forward to the Bible study.  The class chose the book of Hebrews which requires more studying for all of us. But it is very enjoyable and a profitable study.  Margie continues her rigorous care of her eyes and appreciates your prayers that the blood clot will dissolve.  Thanks for praying.

Friends

VERSE FOR THE DAY

But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.Galatians 6:14

The cross of Christ stands tall and strong as we see what He did for us,
The empty tomb surpasses all, and for us this is a plus.
We boast in that cross and empty tomb because our sins have been forgiven,
We joyfully cling to our Lord, and thank Him for all He has given.
(RP)

Friends invited us for an early evening meal at a very nice restaurant. We enjoyed the fellowship very much and of course the food was delicious. We have a couple of schedules to honor today and I will continue my work on the Brazil book and also preparation for the Bible class Friday. We seem to have enough to keep us out of mischief from day to day.  Thank YOU for praying.

Beautiful weather

VERSE OF THE DAY

3 John 1:2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

A healthy soul is a blessed thing and all should seek it now,
Our heavenly Father desires such and we should make it our vow.
Prosperity in all things, is an amazing request for prayer,
But we are allowed to make it, and leave it to His care
(RP)

We are blessed with nice weather.  Our lawn was mowed yesterday. We do have a mild infestation of ants in the house and are making arrangements to get some control to that problem. Margie is very concerned about the blood clot in her eye. She sees the specialist in another month to check the condition of the eye.   We really appreciate your prayers about this.  Thank you.

Glad

VERSE FOR THE DAY

1 Peter 5:8
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion,
seeking whom he may devour..

A solemn warning comes to us with practical advice for all,
These words are timely and needed today for any large or small.
The devil seeks to get us off track, by making us do his will,
Those who succumb will be sorry indeed, and quickly go downhill.
Our enemy is active and looks for prey because he is hungry today,
And would love to devour each and all, as he makes his daily survey.
Be sober, sensible and vigilant always, keeping in step with the Lord,
He protects from harm, as you submit to Him, and gives you a rich reward.
(RP)

Margie had another good night.  Yesterday I spent most the day on my preparations for Bible class and I will probably do the same today.  Hebrews 6 is a complicated section and I want to get it right.
Margie did some work in the kitchen and besides preparing meals, did some baking of gluten free cornbread (very delicious). The weather has been beautiful.  Please continue your prayers for Margie's eyes, asking the Lord to remove the blood clot.  Thank you.

Another week

VERSE FOR THE DAY

 Psalms 7:1O
LORD my God, I take refuge in you; save and deliver me from all who pursue me.

I lift my prayer to you dear Lord, please hear my cry to you,
You are my refuge to Whom I flee, to You I desire to be true.
Keep me in Your hand today, deliver me from those who pursue,
And I will praise Your name always, and my love for You renew.(RP)

We are pleased Margie had a good night.  Yesterday Rawlie was here until later in the afternoon, then left for home. It was nice having him here.  Today we continue working on the Brazil book and also preparations for the Bible class on Friday.  Margie is getting things organized in the kitchen to prepare some desserts for the Easter meal we will have with our family in Standwood next Sunday.  Thank you so much for your prayers.

Time for church

VERSE FOR THE DAY

1 Corinthians 16:14  Let all that you do be done with love

It's so easy, it seems, to choose what we'll do, no matter the results for us,
But God has a word, for us in this verse; and this we now will discuss.
God intends that His children treat others with love, and this you should do every day,
Just give it a try and you'll be surprised when you see what it means to obey.(RP)

We are so glad Margie slept well and we are refreshed and able to go to church today. We look forward to this.  Yesterday we had part of our family here and Rawlie, our son is still here.  He will return home this afternoon sometime.  I found another Bible software service which will help me with my Bible study. We can add books to the list at a minimal cost which is really a blessing.  I continued yesterday with cleaning up the Brazil book manuscripts after Dr. Roy Zuck edited them.  It's still hard to believe that he died.  What a great heritage and example he left us.  Thanks friends, for praying.

Family

VERSE OF THE DAY

Psalm 40:3He put a new song in my mouth,a hymn of praise to our God.Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him.

When God puts a song in your heart my friend, then there's something to sing about,
He saves you from sin and forgives you right now, and leaves no room for worry or doubt.
When you sing and talk about Jesus, others listen to what you say,
The compassion of Jesus then grips them, and they receive Him and begin to obey. (RP)

We are happy Margie had a good night.  These are the blessings we don't take for granted.  Our son is here with us.  He arrived last night. We had a great time recounting "old times" in Brazil and some of the stories that will be our upcoming Brazil book.  Yesterday's Bible class was well attended and participation was excellent. Today I will be working more on the book plus advance study for the Bible class. Margie has some plans in the kitchen also.  Thanks for praying.

It's Friday

VERSE FOR THE DAY

Numbers 20:11-12 Then Moses lifted his hand and struck the rock twice with his rod; and water came out abundantly, and the congregation and their animals drank.  Then the LORD spoke to Moses and Aaron,"Because you did not believe Me, to hallow Me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them.

Disobedience comes with a price tag, its results are not so kind,
Moses was told what to do that day, his duties were well defined.
He was told to speak only to the rock and it would bring forth its "gold,"
Moses took things into his own hands, hit the rock and began to scold.
The promise land was forbidden to him because of his act that day,
And the message for you and me is this: we better listen and obey.(RP)

Remember Paul Harvey and how he started  his Friday morning broadcast?  Yes, it's Friday and today we head for the Ferndale Senior Center and the Bible class.  We look forward to it.  Margie did not sleep well last night.  We wonder what is going on in her system. Some nights are fine and others, she is wide awake.  We just keep plugging away trying new things to see if she can get some sleep.  Our son will arrive this evening and we look forward to that.  Believe it or not snow is forecast in some parts of our county today.  Thanks for your prayers,

Partly good

VERSE FOR THE DAY

The Lord lives!Blessed be my Rock!Let the God of my salvation be exalted.Psalm 18:46

Our great God lives; we bless His holy name,
We exalt Him and His holy name we proclaim.
Our desire is for others to know Him as we do,
We want the world to know He loves them too.(RP)

Margie at least slept part of the night.  Yesterday the retina specialist  re-tested her eyes.  The blood clot persists. Please remember this situation in prayer. He is doing all he can to help her vision. We had a busy day yesterday with 3 trips that took us from Lynden to Bellingham (and our home town of Ferndale).  Today will be busy also but not quite yesterday. Thank you for praying.

Three appointments

VERSE FOR THE DAY

Colossians 3:16
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

Letting Christ's Word dwell in you, means it must be faithfully obeyed,
His Word in you is a wonderful thing, the finest that can be displayed.
If you do these things God prepares your heart, teaching you how to serve,
With His wisdom in you, you'll help others soon and they, your life will observe.
Sing spiritual songs with grace in your heart, and the Lord will be honored for sure,
What a joy it is to serve others each day and the joy that your life is secure.

We have a busy day and are praying Margie will have the strength to endure.  She has a very important follow-up appointment with the Retina specialist also.  We pray all is going well in that eye she will have checked this morning.  I continued my preparations for Bible class and actually wrote two new articles for the "Brazil book.  I also transferred the editing correction to clean copies, ready for the publisher. We thank you friends for your prayers for us.

Dr. Roy Zuck

VERSE OF THE DAY

Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.Isaiah 46:9-10

I'm glad I serve a sovereign God, one who is in control,
What joy it is to trust in Him , because He's in charge of my soul.
His plan for this world is plainly given, in the Bible we find it so,
All should heed His promises there, whether you are friend or foe.
God's plan can't be thwarted or changed at all so listen and obey today,
And all will be well when He is in charge, and if you belong to Him, it's okay.

Margie and I were shocked to receive this notice yesterday.  Roy and I were both from Phoenix, Arizona and were roommates in college. The interesting thing about this is that he edited the manuscript for the Brazil book we want to publish. We believe it was the last work he did.  We knew he was ill, but didn't realize it was that severe.  I will send a link to any who wish to read more of Roy's fruitful ministry.
Roy B. Zuck, senior professor emeritus of Bible  Exposition and editor of Bibliotecca Sacra, went to be with the Lord on the evening of Saturday, March 16,2013.
During Dr. Zuck's tenure at DTS (Dallas Theological Seminary) he served in many roles including Vice President for Academic Affairs and Academic Dean (1985-1992). Under his leadership the Doctor of Ministry, the Master of Arts in Cross-Cultural Minisries, and the Master of Arts in Christian Education were started and took shape.  Following his role as Academic Dean, he served as Chair of the Bible Exposition Department from 1992 to 1996.
He was a wonderful man of faith and a champion for academic scholarship.  In total, Dr. Zuck served at DTS for 40 years. He will be missed, but his enthusiastic love for our Lord will not be forgotten.

We are so happy Margie did well last night.  Thanks for praying.

Not again

VERSE FOR THE DAY

Matthew 17:20-21  So Jesus said to them, Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.

Unbelief comes easy for us all, Jesus knows this so well,
He teaches using a mustard seed, Its story is as clear as a bell.
Mustard seeds are so small, and He knows our faith's the same,
Cheer up my fellow Christian, denying this fact is a shame.
Trust God for answers to prayer, ask Him for bigger things,
With sincerity and a fasting heart, you'll see what joy it brings.(RP)

I wish I could report a good night for Margie.  We don't know what went wrong, but she did not have a sleepful night. It must have been some allergy problem because her food drops ( for allergies) finally got her to sleep. We pray things will normalize tonight.  This morning she has an appointment.  We also must drop by and order the rest of the face mask attachment for the C-PAP machine.  It came incomplete so she was unable to use the new one. We never tire of thanking you for your prayers.

Sunday

VERSE FOR THE DAY

Psalm 8:9 O LORD, our Lord, How excellent is Your name in all the earth!

The Name above all names is the one before us today,
The Lord, mighty in works who does more than we can say.
No other name matches His, and He is our Saviour and Lord,
So trust Him and serve Him the rest of your life; He is our great reward.(RP)

We will be driving down the hill shortly to our church.  We are so grateful Margie had a good night.  She attributes it to prayer.  The Lord is good.  Margie is rightfully concerned about her eye condition and we appreciate your prayers.  A letter her specialist sent to Group Health does not correspond with what he told her last Wednesday.  I will be calling for an explanation.  Thanks so much for your prayers.

Relax

VERSE FOR THE DAY

Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall. Proverbs 16:18

Pride is an awful trait to have, its results are sad indeed,
It precedes destruction Solomon said, and to this we all concede.
A haughty spirit is a dreadful thing and leads to a very sad end,
So beware dear reader and listen up and your wayward ways amend.(RP)

After a full week of activity, I believe we are going to relax today. Margie had another good night. We are so thankful.  I will continue on the Brazil book and throw in some more Hebrew study but that's enjoyable and not "labor". Margie is telephoning to friends which is part of her ministry on Saturdays. March 17 my brother Ernie and wife Verda celebrate 60 years of ministry in Singapore.  I would say that's quite a record. We pray you all have a good day.  Thank you for praying for us.  We deeply appreciate it.

Bible study

VERSE FOR THE DAY

Deuteronomy 6:5
You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.

Total dedication is what God desires, it is plainly stated here,
Half-hearted devotion is no good, it proves you are not sincere.
Serve Him my friend with all your heart and the strength He has given you,
For this is the path to victory, and God promises He'll see you through.(RP)

We had a good day yesterday and were glad to be part of the afternoon prayer meeting at the church.  This morning we teach the
Bible class at the Senior Center in Ferndale.  We are praying Margie's eye will react favorably to the special injection received Wednesday for wet macular degeneration.  Thank you friends for your prayers.

Prayer

VERSE FOR THE DAY

Psalms 20:7Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.

Men trust in all sorts of things, as they go through life down here,
And most forget God in the process, and that's why there's so much fear.
Thank God we can trust in the Lord, allowing Him to lead in our lives,
And the one who lets Him lead will always tell you he thrives(RP)

Margie's retina specialist yesterday determined that her dry macular degeneration is not wet.  She had a special injection into the eye. We urge our friends to pray that her sight will remain stable through this transition. We are sorry for this added concern for her list.  She will see the specialist again next week. In Singapore a special recognition of my brother and sister-in-law's 60 years of missionary service was held.  What a long term of service for Ernie and Verda Poulson. We congratulate them. We are sort of "recovering" from our cold spells and today have two things we would like to work into our schedule, health permitting. I appreciate your prayers for the Bible class I teach Friday morning.  I would love to be able to teach it.  Thanks for praying.

Appointments

VERSE FOR THE DAY

Revelation 21:4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.

Oh the joy of looking upward to our home beyond the skies,
When we see our Savior, Master, and look into His eyes.
God's handkerchief will be busy, on that blessed future day,
When with love and great compassion he will wipe our tears away.
Graveyard markers will be history 'cause all death has had its end,
No more pain or sorrow will touch us and eternity with Him we'll spend.(RP)

This morning we will be taking Margie to two appointments related to her sleeping issues and then a retina specialist for her eyes.  We are grateful she had a good night again.  This is a blessing we never take for granted. In the afternoon I will be working on some items for the church prayer sheet, and continue my work of formatting and preparing the final documents in Word for submission to the publisher.  But there is much to do so I will be plenty busy in the coming weeks, I know.  Thanks so much for praying.

Rain & wind

VERSE FOR THE DAY

Proverbs 3:21-22 My son, let them not depart from your eyes; Keep sound wisdom and discretion; So they will be life to your soul And grace to your neck.

Solomon's counsel is as good today as when it was first given out,
Those who followed his wise words since then, certainly don't have a doubt.
Wisdom is doing God's will each day, and discretion is making the right choice,
Doing these things is a wonderful step, and all who do them rejoice.
God's abundant life and gracious ways are the possession of those who obey,
And one thing is sure, there's joy in their hearts, as they walk with the Lord all the way.(RP)

It is a very nice day to stay INSIDE.  The wind is blowing strong and the rain is steady.  We have been sick and are hopefully coming out of it now but we must be careful. Another good night is recorded and we are grateful.  We are making progress on the Brazil book but there is still MUCH to do.  Today I must devote more time to study of the book of Hebrews as I prepare for Friday's class. Thanks dear friends for praying.

Another good one

VERSE FOR THE DAY

Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil,to give you a future and a hope.

God's thoughts of us are warm today, as He thinks of you and me,
He thinks no evil, but only peace, as He gives this sweet decree.
He has a plan for each of us and will move us gently along,
And by His grace our hope is sure because to Him we belong(RP)

Yesterday we were not able to go to church because we have colds.  We knew our friends would not appreciate the exposure we would give them to this.  Margie had another good night last night. We are so thankful.  Today we will continue with Brazil book work and also preparations for the Bible class next Friday. Thanks for your prayers.

Sunday, March 10, 2013

Home today

VERSE FOR THE DAY

Ephesians 4:29
Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.
Be careful little mouth what you say, is more than just a song,
It is a command from God, and keeps us from doing wrong.
Christians who encourage others, are doing their Father's will,
Which edifies the recipients and helps them God's will to fulfill (RP)

We both are with health issues today.  That's very unusual for me, but it is true.  We will worship at home.  Yesterday despite feeling punk, I continued my work on the Brazil book.  Margie made her customary phone calls to several ladies around the country. She finished reading all the edited stories that she highlights.  Then I take them, clean them up and put them in the finished file. To double check I think we will print off all the ready-for-press copies and re-read them just to make sure.  There is never a dull moment around here as you can see. Thank you much for your prayers, Margie had another good night.  We pray this continues.

The best

VERSE FOR THE DAY

Matthew 5:16
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
You can only shine for Jesus when His light is in your heart,
The only way you do this, is when with Jesus you make your start.
He's the light of the world and wants to live in you,
So give Him your life right now and have peace like you never knew.
As Christians we shine for Jesus, letting His light shine brightly to all,
When the lost see our works for the Master, they will then upon Him call.

Margie told me this morning she had the best sleep she has had in a long time.  We are so thankful. Yesterday's Bible class was well attended and we had a good time studying the book of Hebrews together.  Today we continue with the Brazil book.  There is much to do.  Thanks for praying.

Bible study

VERSE FOR THE DAY

Proverbs 15:1
A soft answer turns away wrath,But a harsh word stirs up anger.

Harsh words abound in our language today, they cause anger, hard feelings, and strife.
The words cut so deeply and are hurtful to all, and they inflict a deep cut like a knife.
They cause anger and problems too severe to control, and bad feelings are the result,
So no one should ever use words of this kind, no child, adolescent, young person, or adult.
Soft answers are pleasing to our Lord up above, He takes pleasure in those who thus speak,
So next time you are tempted to answer roughshod, breathe deeply, imitate Jesus, and be meek. (RP)

This morning we will be going down to the Ferndale Senior Activity Center where we will teach the Bible class.  We are studying the book of Hebrews.  It is a challenge to teach this book and make it applicable to everyday living.  Of course that's what the book is all about so we are having a great time in it.  Margie had a good night. I continue transferring the edited remarks to the clean copy getting our Brazil book ready for publishing.  It also is challenging but enjoyable.  Thanks so much for praying.

Thursday, March 7, 2013

Good night

VERSE OF THE DAY

Proverbs 14:26
In the fear of the Lord there is strong confidence,And His children will have a place of refuge.

When you trust the Lord fear is gone and confidence rules the day,
This is the path God intends us to walk, in harmony with Him all the way.
The lessons we teach our children this way are so very special to them,
And the refuge in Jesus is precious my friend, more valuable than any gem., (RP)

Thankfully, Margie had another good night.  We are glad. This morning I take her to have her hair done She is not able to do it because of her shoulder operation. Even before surgery she was unable because of the pain. We also have afternonon prayer meeting at the church.  In between these events I keep at our Brazil book which as you know consumes a great deal of our time know.  It is all very satisfying work so this is not a complaint. Thanks so much for your prayers.

A blessing

VERSE FOR THE DAY

Then Moses said to God, Indeed, when I come to the children of Israel and say to them, 'The God of your fathers has sent me to you, and they say to me, What is His name? What shall I say to them? And God said to Moses, I AM WHO I AM. And He said, Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, I AM has sent me to you. Exodus 3:13-14

The names of God are important to us and reveal to us very much,
In fact His names help us all through life and bring us the Master's touch.
For each of our needs, He has a name that helps, displaying His loving care,
If you doubt God's help don't forget his I AM because it's always there,
When we are aware of the I AM who speaks, there's nothing for us to fear,
He supplies what we need with His special name and we know he is always near. (RP)

It is always a blessing to report Margie slept well.  Thanks so much for praying.  Yesterday she attended the Ladies Missionary meeting at our church.  I was home working on my Hebrew Bible class and also the Brazil book project.  Margie also continued highlighting the edited parts so I can go through the stories and clean them up, getting them ready for press. We appreciate your prayer support.

Sleep

VERSE OF THE DAY

But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars--their place will be in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death.  Revelation 21:8

The human heart without the Lord is deceived and hopelessly lost,
As such it has no spiritual truth and seeks pleasure at any cost.
God plainly states that its eternal state is cut for it in stone,
And there's nothing in its life worthwhile, nothing He can condone.
The only hope for lost souls today, is to turn to Jesus and be saved,
Having their names in the Book of Life, by Jesus Christ, engraved.
Come all you sinners to the cross of Christ, ask His forgiveness now,
And the joy of the Lord will fill your soul and at His feet you'll humbly bow.(RP)

Not often we report Margie sleeps well.  Last night she did.  We are thankful.  Yesterday she worked in the kitchen, doing some baking. In the afternoon she highlighted more of the edited stories so I can get them cleaned up and ready for publishing. I continued doing just that and got 24 more stories ready. That makes a total of 50 we have completed.  That is 1/4th of the total so you can see we have our work cut out for us. Thanks for praying.

Restless

VERSE OF THE DAY

Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Philippians 2:3

Pride plays an enormous role in many lives today,
And God's Word warns of the awful tricks it can play.
Selfishness and conceit are denounced for all believers in Christ,
And those who are Christians know, that it's easy to be enticed.
But in lowliness of mind consider others better than you,
And then I guarantee it'll be the best thing you can do.(RP)

Besides sleep problems, Margie also has restless legs.  Last night they kept her awake. Finally she was able to sleep and we are glad for that.  Tonight she will try taking her medication much earlier to see if that will check the problem. I surely enjoyed the privilege of preaching in our home church yesterday.  The folks are always so kind and it's easy to preach there. Today we will keep at our Brazil book work and also the  Bible class on Hebrews. Thanks for praying.

Preaching

VERSE OF THE DAY

He shall cover you with His feathers,And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. Psalm 91:4

The protection of our Father as he takes care of His child,
Is the sweetest story known that has ever been compiled.
Like a bird who cuddles her babies  neath her feathers oh so warm,
Is how God cares for each one and takes them through the storm.
I thank God for His protection over me from day to day,
And I will never cease to praise Him, for with Him all is okay.(RP)

Our son and granddaughter were with us yesterday.  Margie prepared a nice meal for them. They went back home late afternoon.  Our pastor called yesterday requesting I preach today. He  was not feeling well and wanted me to fill in for him.  I am always pleased to help when needed so worked on my message throughout the day.  I look forward to that this morning.  Unfortunately, Margie did not have a good night. I had purchased some new prescribed medicine for her but apparently it did not work.  I feel badly when she can't sleep well.  Thanks, dear friends, for praying.

Good night

VERSE OF THE DAY

And above all things have fervent love for one another, for love will cover a multitude of sins.1 Peter 4:8

Peter gives wise counsel here for Christians far a wide,
Love each other as Jesus loved; that proves you're on His side.
Loving someone as Jesus loved, does precious things to you,
Faults are covered with love at once and communion with God is true.(RP)

We are so happy Margie had a good night.  These do not come so often and when they do we are grateful.  Those who sleep well, (like me) do not understand what it is like to be awake for hours. Margie found a new source for gluten free bread and I will pick it up today.  Ironically the brand we have been using for a long time, has holes in it. The slices are small to start with and you can scarcely butter it without putting a layer of jelly on the  palm of your hand, because the holes are so large in each slice.  We hope the new bread is not that way.  We have our son and granddaughter with us today.  That is nice. Thanks so much for your prayer support.

Pretty good

VERSE FOR THE DAY

Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. James 5:16

When we sin against others, James instructs us here, on what we ought to do,
We should go to them and confess our wrongs and see our problem through.
Prayer for each other is a must you see, for by it many hurts are healed,
And as we do, we give proof to our friends, that to God we submit and yield.
As Christians, we all have the duty to pray, and our heavenly Father repays,
By giving the results to the prayers of His saints and we marvel at His loving displays.(RP)

Margie said she had a pretty good night.  That means it was better than the other times recently.  My brother Harold invited us out for a delicious meal last night.  He leaves today, returning to Anchorage.  He will be back in Ferndale in about a month.  We will be heading down the hill this morning to teach my Bible class at the Ferndale Senior Activity Center.  We look forward to it.  Thanks, friends, for your prayers,
