But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. James 1:6

There is no room for doubting, when we come to God in prayer,
He wants to help us always, no matter who, either here or there.
Your life is very important to Him, so go to the Lord right now,
He'll listen, and do what's best, as you humbly before Him bow. (RP)

Please do not doubt God today in the issue you face. He is willing to help. Give Him a chance. Thanks for praying.

CATARACT UPDATE: All went well, and today I go for the post-op check-up. I am expecting it to be a good report. The patch is still on, and will be removed when I have the appointment.  Added note: I literally received SCORES of birthday wishes. Thank you all for the kind greetings. Thanks for praying.

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Mat 11:28

Oh the restless souls that surround us all around us in every place.
We pray they will meet the Savior and be saved by His loving grace.
Christ invites us to come to Him and receive spiritual rest today.
And those who come will find sweet solace not just now but everyday.  (RP)

1 Thessalonians 5:18 In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

Some carelessly say they want God's will, but then do nothing about it,
They go through life with an air of delight, but never to God submit.
There's one way we can always do His will, just by giving Him thanks,
This is God's way, and it always works, because God does not play pranks.
Begin today to be thankful, remembering all of God's goodness to you.
What a way to begin doing God's will, which from us may be long overdue.  (RP)

1 Corinthians 10:31
Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

God saved us, forgave us, and promises eternal life.
And all this in a world that is filled with sin and strife.
He expects us to honor Him in our walk down here.
Daily we should be grateful, and so glad He is near.
In all we do every day,my friend, learn to glorify God.
Any other behavior would certainly be very odd.
So in all we do down here, be careful to obey.
And God will surely bless you each and every day.(RP)

Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Hebrews 4:16

Here is the place to come, if you are looking for help. God's help is best. Let Him help you NOW. Thanks for praying.

This gracious invitation to commune with God today,
Is a promise from heaven so respond without delay.
We are a needy people, and God knows this very well,
He gives mercy, grace, and help; your problems He will quell.  (RP)

We cannot cover up this gift. We either have it or we do not.

"By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." (John 13:35

People are watching us carefully day by day,
Noticing who we talk to, and what we may say.
They will soon know to Whom we belong,
Their verdict, I'm thinking, will not be wrong. (RP)

John 3:30 He must increase, but I must decrease

We think we are important and our self esteem grows bold,
Our minds play tricks too often and our pride soon is fourfold.
Then we meet our Savior who instructs us through His word,
Then we realize in a moment that we've been quite absurd.
In our walk with Christ down here we are to magnify Him,
And any other behavior surely puts us way out on a limb.
Dear Christian: live for Jesus and make Him the honored guest,
No longer promote yourself but magnify Him, which is the best.  (RP)

UPDATE:  My post-op surgery (eye) exam went well. The eye is doing wonderfully. I am thankful. Now I am preparing for the left eye surgery on Tuesday, the 26th. Thanks for praying.

Tuesday, February 19, 2019

Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realized that they had been with Jesus. Acts 4:13

UPDATE;  Please pray for my trip to the eye doctor today for the five day check up after cataract surgery.  Snow is predicted in our area, and poor road conditions are forecast. Thanks for praying.

The world looks at Christians and are amazed I say.
They just don't understand, and are really blown away.
They sometimes perceive us to be ignorant and plain,
And can't understand us and our straight-laced domain.
But one thing is sure and I hope it will always be.
They know we've been with Jesus, and  can't disagree.(RP)

Hebrews 4:15-16 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

God knows exactly when we need help, and He is ever present in those times. Let us boldly seek Him today, and always. (About my eye: seeing clearly has never been so enjoyable)  Thanks for praying.

Jesus our High Priest understands, and surely knows our needs.
He sympathizes with our weakness; for the believer who intercedes.
He has no sin, but helps the sinners; how fortunate we are.
A loving Savior He is to all: and even for sinners He goes so far.
Today and always we come boldly to Him at the throne of grace.
And oh what joy we receive from Jesus in this holy sacred place.  (RP)

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. Acts 1:8

Did you see what happens when the Holy Spirit works in a Christian's life? The natural result of a
Spirit-filled life, is witnessing. Your spiritual barometer will soon tell if you are walking in the Spirit or not. Test yourself, ask the Lord for His filling, and be a witness for Jesus. Thanks for praying.

God calls His children to be witnesses, and empowers them to serve.
He sends them to tell others of Jesus; this command we must observe.
The Holy Spirit gives power to those who will submit; it all starts here.
And we are to go into all the world and give out His message so clear.  (RP

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. I Peter 5:8

Believers can't be too careful in their daily walk down here.
The devil seeks our downfall; you can be sure he will appear.
We must be alert and watching to keep ourselves from attack.
We must be in fellowship with Jesus, so we will never slack.
Our enemy roars like a lion seeking to destroy and devour.
We must be cautious and ready, every moment of every hour.  (RP)

My surgery report:  My vision has dramatically improved, and I am very thankful. My doctor told me it would happen, and it has. It is a new world of sharpness and bright colors.  And to think I still have another eye that needs fixing. What will it be then? Thanks for praying.

Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, "Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples."

As you read this, I will be on my way to the hospital for cataract surgery. I appreciate the prayer support and will update you as soon as I am able to do so. Thanks for praying

When Jesus finished praying that day, so many years ago
His disciple came to Him, with something he wanted to know.
A simple request with profound results; "teach us how to pray."
May we, dear friends, follow his desire, and do the same today.

And they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus. Acts 4:13

As you go about your business for today, please let Jesus be on display in your life. Thanks for praying.

Help me to live for You today in such a special way,
That others will know without a doubt, in my life that He is on display (R.P.)

The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27:1

With the deep snow, and very cold weather, there are some natural fears that arise. But I am so glad that the Lord for is  our Light and Strength. Let us go today with that assurance. Thanks for praying.

The Lord for us is many things, but light and salvation are supreme.
Before we walked in darkness and all was dreary and upstream.
Then we met the Savior, and he gave new hope for sure,
And oh how great it is to have Him, and be saved and so secure.
He is now our strength for living, and with Him we are not afraid.
So march on dear Christians, and do not be dismayed. (RP)

Luke 6:41 And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not perceive the plank in your own eye?

It is so easy to find fault in others, and overlook our own weaknesses. We can change this right now, and should. Thanks for praying.

It's so easy to find fault in others, we seem to do it every day,
But here we have a warning, and the principle we should obey.
When you think others are failing, remember to look in the mirror,
Ask His forgiveness right now, and by Him always stay nearer. (RP)

Isaiah 65:24
Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear.

Rawlie (my son) is here to take me to the hospital tomorrow morning for my cataract surgery. Check in time is 7:30. Problem: almost everything is closed because of yesterday's storm, and another is predicted for tonight. Thanks for praying.

What a gracious heavenly Father we have; He is ever attentive as we pray,
Even before we call upon Him, He is listening to us all along our way.
I am so glad He answers prayer; what an encouragement this is to me,
I hope that you will trust Him more and a faithful follower you will want to be.  (RP)

Lu 11:1 Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, "Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples."

Please read this verse again and decide to do what the disciple did. You will not be sorry, and the results are enormous. Thanks for praying.

When Jesus finished praying that day, so many years ago
His disciple came to Him, with something he wanted to know.
A simple request with profound results; "teach us how to pray."
May we, dear friends, follow his desire, and do the same today. (RP)

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:1

I am grateful that once you are IN Christ, there is no condemnation.  Are you in Him, because you trusted Him for your personal salvation?  If not, why not ask Him NOW.  Thanks for praying.

I wandered condemned, a sinner by birth, until I met Jesus my Lord.
He saved me from sin and gave me new life, now we are of one accord.
In Jesus there's no condemnation; He washed me and saved me from sin.
A new creation I am, because of His grace, and now all is peaceful within. (RP)

Hatred stirs up strife, But love covers all sins  .Prov 10:12

The sin of hate is awful and fills the world with strife,
And many a family has suffered: children, husband and wife.
God's love is eminently better, and is free for all to take.
Let it cover you now, dear reader, and a new life for you He'll make. (RP)

Which emotion controls your life today?  Is it hate or love? You know, because you are the judge. Make the right decision today as you face family, friends and foes. Thanks for praying.

Proverbs 16:2  All the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes, But the LORD weighs the spirits.

A fact of life is this: we all think we are doing right.
But thank God He really knows our honest plight.
We need to walk in the light of God's holy Word.
It shows our way and is the best thing we've heard.
I am glad He weighs our actions, and knows us well.
And as we walk with Him, all fear He will lovingly dispel. (RP)

I'm so glad the Lord  knows us. We may honestly think we are living our lives correctly, but God knows our hearts. Today, right now, God weighs your life, and knows exactly all about you. Why not submit and allow Him to help you. Thanks for praying.

Psalms 89:1
I will sing of the LORD's great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations.

When you've been touched by God's special love,
You realize in your heart His great help from above.
I sing of His love with joy; it always thrills my soul.
It's a thrill to know our loving Lord is in full control.
Lord please help me tell others of your faithful care,
I want to be true always, and spend time in prayer. (RP)

Whether we sing or just talk, may we be sure and
let others know we are grateful for God's faithfulness. I believe it starts at  home, and that's why it says, "to all generations." Thanks for praying.

Proverbs 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

Some think they are wise, but know nothing about its source.
They have no concept of God with his unbelievable force.
If they knew that trusting Him is the beginning of it all.
Maybe they would come to Him, and at his feet humbly fall.
When one has knowledge of God, then he's on the right road,
His heart will be joyful, and God's presence his abode. (RP)

This is a simple test. You are either wise, or unwise. You are the judge. Trusting the Lord wholly, is what gives wisdom. For years I have defined wisdom as "Doing things God's way" Thanks for praying.

The eyes of the LORD are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good.
Proverbs 15:3

My heavenly Father watches over me, every day and every hour.
He sees what I am doing and guards me with His great power.
His watching eyes see everything whether it be good or bad,
And I'm comforted by this, because it makes me very glad.  (RP)

Last night was a STORM. It is forecast to continue today and longer. The winds were fierce all night, and continue.  I'm glad our heavenly Father sees and knows all. There is a reason for all this, and I am glad He is in charge. Thanks for praying.

I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my necessary food.
Job 23:12

What wisdom we see in these words today; how great is this word for us.
All who seek to hear God's Word, have assurance of a very good plus.
What a treasure God's Word is for us each day; it is refreshing all the way.
And all who love this book divine, will be blessed every single day. (RP)

Many of us will be in church today, and the challenge from God's Word is for us to listen to Him as we worship. Pay attention to what He wants to tell you today. Thanks for praying.

Psalm 119:11 Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.

We tend to hide things easily, especially distasteful things,
That thing may be delightful, but to God it really stings.
Try to do it God's way, and hide His word within your heart.
A stronger Christian you'll be, and from Him you won't depart. (RP)

What a wise decision it is to hide God's Word in your heart. We are prone to hide many things there, but His Word is the best always. You will be the winner. Thanks for praying.

Jesus said to him,I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. John 14:6

In words so plain we all understand, Jesus tells us who He is,
The plan is great and profound and the provision is totally His.
The Way, The Truth and the Life, He is for all who trust in Him.
And all who do, are saved indeed, and their lives filled to the brim.
There's only one way to the Father above, we are told by Jesus here.
To get to the Father you must come His way, and this with a heart that is sincere.  (RP)

In the context of our Scripture today, Jesus said in His Father's house were MANY places. Yes there is still room for more. That's why we keep on telling people about Jesus. Help us get the word out. Will you? Thanks for praying.
