GOD IS NOT IN A HURRY

"But, beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance."   2 Peter 3:8-9

  

We easily forget one thing: God's timepiece is different than ours.

His promises are secure, and shine very brightly like all the stars.

He is lovingly with you and me, waiting patiently for us to decide.

He calls sinners to repentance; desiring  all of us with Him to reside.   (RP)

"For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;"

Colossians 1:9-10

Paul's prayers are powerful and full of great biblical truth.

They are timely for the aged, and good indeed for the youth.

God wants us to know His will, so we can walk as we ought.

And always do His will in all the wonderful things He taught.

As we live each day, we will increase our knowledge of God.

At the end our road, we'll rejoice, we did not display a facade.  (RP)

WHAT DOS THE BIBLE MEAN TO YOU?

Ps 19:10-11 More to be desired are they than gold, Yea, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them Your servant is warned, And in keeping them there is great reward.

Are God's words for you more important than gold?

Maybe they aren't, and you really don't want it told.

But perhaps they may be sweeter than honey for some.

For these, they can't be quiet,and will not be mum.

The Word is so important; it keeps us on our toes,

And warns of many dangers, and threatening woes.

If you diligently keep His word, there will be a reward.

And by its teachings and examples, you will not be bored. (RP)

Col 1:13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,

When we were deep in sin, with no hope in life at all,

Someone showed us Jesus, who saved us from a fall.

He brought us out of darkness, into His glorious light,

False shepherds abound in this world today, seeking the souls of mankind,

Greed for themselves, and harm to the sheep; to this they are resigned.

But Jesus comes to give life to the lost, salvation and hope for them all,

And abundant life for all who will come, whether they are great or small. (RP)

WALK AS JESUS WALKED

"But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him. He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked."

A test is given here to see what God's word means to you.

If you keep His word, then God's love is seen in you too.

Anyone can tell very quickly if we are abiding in His grace.

If we are, then we will show by our walk in the right place. (RP)

We normally dislike sickness and problems, that accompany us here on earth.

Each case is different for everyone, and for some it is a pitiful and sad dearth.

But believers in Jesus have different perspectives;  they see them another way.

Living for Jesus is a joy, and in our problems we are made strong; now all's okay. (RP)

GOD RUNS THE SHOW

Eph 1:1 In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will,

I'm so glad God is in charge; He does it better than any.

He planned it so well, and it cost me not a single penny.

No committee was ever needed when He predestined all.

And His counsel is supreme, and at His feet I humbly fall. (RP)

WHO ARE WE WAITING FOR ?

 Isaiah 40:31 But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

He gives strength for the waiting saint who will cast his care on Him,

And carry him along the way whether the road is bright or dim.

God specializes in renewal when our strength has reached its low,

And like eagles we'll soar high above all trouble and haunting woe.

We'll run and not get tired when the path seems steep and rough,

When we do our work for Jesus, we won't faint because He's enough.

WATCH OUT FOR DECEIVERS

"And Jesus answered and said to them: "Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will deceive many." (Matthew 24:4-5)

Deceivers are a dime a dozen, and you'll be "taken" if you don't know God's Word.

Don't let the smooth talk,and glitz they display, get you off track,and your vision blurred.

Jillions are saying their way is right, but if you don't study the Bible, you will not know.

Find a church where God's Word is preached; read it and study it, and you will grow. (RP)

THIS IS WHAT JESUS WANTS US TO DO

As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. John 15:4

Jesus gives us the secret of working for Him; to be winners we must abide in Him,

We must not just go through life all alone; it's unwise to be left to our own whim.

To be fruitful for the Lord, we must have sweet fellowship with Him; this is a must.

Then your work will be blessed, because in Him you are putting all of your trust.  (RP)

WE HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY

"I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty, And on Your wondrous works. Men shall speak of the might of Your awesome acts, And I will declare Your greatness."

Psalm 145:5-6

When we see God's majestic handwork, we stop to meditate and think.

Non-believers see the same things, and often miss God's best in a blink.

Then Is the moment for us to enter, and talk about God's awesome acts.

And we tell of His greatness to them,and about the gospel give the facts.  (RP)

Young man Zechariah made a decision, early in his career.

To follow the Lord and not depart; to this he would adhere.

He listened to the Lord, and the commandments of his God.

ARE YOU HAPPY WITH WHAT GOD IS DOING?

Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.

Philippians 1:6

God began a good work in believers, when he saved them from their sins,

And the end of the story gets sweeter; everyone in this group truly wins.

Every day with Jesus life get brighter, as we walk faithfully in His way.

Jesus will come some day, and take us to His home where we’ll stay. (RP)

UPDATE: The Friday Bible class ended yesterday. My class blessed me with a beautifully worded card and signed by the members with personal encouraging notes. And they gave a huge gift of money, which is so gracious of them. I love this class and through them I am blessed.

THINKING TWICE BEFORE WE ACT

Php 2:3 Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.

Oft times we think God's word is hard, and we tend to gripe and complain,

But the truth of the matter is that God knows us, and here He will explain.

He knows our selfish nature, and how we compare others to ourselves.

So He gets to the root of the matter in this verse; yes, into my life He delves. (RP)

"So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God."

 James 1:19-20

This verse comes quickly home, because it hits us where we hurt.

The case is right here before us, so let's not the truth pervert.

Listen more and talk much less, and your anger God will control.

His righteousness will then be displayed; a good thing for the soul. (RP)

John 1:3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.

Take a look at God's handiwork, then glance into a mirror, please.

We are in wonder at all He made; everything to His will agrees.

God's sovereign will has a plan for us, centered in His great love.

And oh how spectacular this is for us; each thing fits like a glove. (RP)

HOW IS YOUR FAITH?

"And the apostles said to the Lord, "Increase our faith." So the Lord said, "If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, 'Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,' and it would obey you."   Luke 17:5-6

We pray about many things each day. Our faith seems so very small.

Increase my faith is the cry of my heart. God promises and hears my call.

Our prayer life matures as we obey His word, and the answers come our way.

So cheer up Christian, let's receive God's best, as we read His word, and pray. (RP)

WHAT GOD SAYS ABOUT CHURCH ATTENDANCE

Heb 10:25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.

God's word is so plain in this biblical truth: believers should be together in church.

Sunday, let's be in the church of our choice; don't disobey, and be left in a lurch.

Jesus is coming, so we must be aware, that some don't attend church anymore.

I pray God will change hearts, and a prompt return to church they will restore.

THE TEST OF WHERE YOU ARE WALKING

Ga 5:16 I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh

Believers in Jesus have a choice exactly how they are going to walk.

Here He commands to walk in the Spirit; at this no one should balk.

When the Spirit controls your life, your freedom in Christ is real.

The lust of the flesh is controlled by Him, and His victory you feel. (RP)

HOW IS YOUR RESISTANCE?

James 4:7  Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

The devil is seeking all the time, wanting so much to devour us.

God is here to rescue, and He'll make our story a beautiful plus.

Resist the devil with God's mighty help, then you'll have relief.

The devil will flee and you'll be free, because of your belief. (RP)

DON'T FORGET TO LOOK IN THE MIRROR

Matthew 7:3  And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?

When you look in a mirror you see yourself; that's what this verse is about.

It so easy to find fault with our fellow-men, and complain and gripe or pout.

Jesus wants us to examine our lives, and consider what's wrong with us first.

Then clean up our act and live for Him, and each day for righteousness thirst. (RP)

Eph 5:17 Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.

God tells us not to be unwise about His will for us.

This means it CAN be done, and that without a fuss.

Then you'll have the joy of obeying Him all the way.

When you come to Christ, old things pass away,

And now in Him you begin a brand new day.

Psalm 31:3 For You are my rock and my fortress; Therefore, for Your name's sake, Lead me and guide me.

In a world of shaky foundations, we are glad for a safe and secure place,

This place is in Jesus our Lord and we have it because of His grace.

A rock and a fortress strong, is our Lord for His children each day,

When things around us are crumbling, we know with Him all is okay.

Our prayer today and always is: Lord lead me and guide me your way,
