VERSE OF THE DAY
Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.Isaiah 46:9-10
I'm glad I serve a sovereign God, one who is in control,
What joy it is to trust in Him , because He's in charge of my soul.
His plan for this world is plainly given, in the Bible we find it so,
All should heed His promises there, whether you are friend or foe.
God's plan can't be thwarted or changed at all so listen and obey today,
And all will be well when He is in charge, and if you belong to Him, it's okay.
Margie and I were shocked to receive this notice yesterday. Roy and I were both from Phoenix, Arizona and were roommates in college. The interesting thing about this is that he edited the manuscript for the Brazil book we want to publish. We believe it was the last work he did. We knew he was ill, but didn't realize it was that severe. I will send a link to any who wish to read more of Roy's fruitful ministry.
Roy B. Zuck, senior professor emeritus of Bible Exposition and editor of Bibliotecca Sacra, went to be with the Lord on the evening of Saturday, March 16,2013.
During Dr. Zuck's tenure at DTS (Dallas Theological Seminary) he served in many roles including Vice President for Academic Affairs and Academic Dean (1985-1992). Under his leadership the Doctor of Ministry, the Master of Arts in Cross-Cultural Minisries, and the Master of Arts in Christian Education were started and took shape. Following his role as Academic Dean, he served as Chair of the Bible Exposition Department from 1992 to 1996.
He was a wonderful man of faith and a champion for academic scholarship. In total, Dr. Zuck served at DTS for 40 years. He will be missed, but his enthusiastic love for our Lord will not be forgotten.
We are so happy Margie did well last night. Thanks for praying.
